Sheet Masks: Â What are they? Â How do you use them? Â Do they work?
If you’re addicted to beauty products and makeup like me, and you haven’t heard of sheet masks yet, then you must be living under a rock. 😉 Â Sheet masks are the ‘new thing’ in skin care. Â They are mainly for the face, however I am seeing under eye and lip sheet masks out there now.
Sheet masks do almost everything regular masks can do, except exfoliate. Â They do not dry your skin out, so if you are looking for an exfoliant that cleans out your pores by drying them out, then sheet masks are not for you. Â That does not mean if you are oily, you shouldn’t use sheet masks. Â Sheet masks are full of ingredients that have a ton of benefits for your skin, depending on the kind you use; Â moisturizing, brightening, perfecting, mattifying, anti-blemish, nourishing, balancing, toning, revitalizing, de-puffing, energizing, anti-fatigue, anti-aging, antioxidant, repairing, soothing, smoothing, purifying, detoxifying, firming and tightening…the list goes on..
Sheet masks are made to fit your face. Â They are typically left on for anywhere from 10-30 min and then when you take them off, you massage them into your skin, rather than wash them off. Â This allows the ingredients to soak in to the skin.
I get most of my sheet masks from Sephora, but as they have become more popular, you can now get them at pretty much every drugstore. Â I recommend checking the ingredients before purchasing, as some off brands may contain ingredients you shouldn’t put on your face. Â I would suggest avoiding any products containing parabens.
My favorite of the Sephora masks I have tried is the Green Tea!
If you purchase anything from Sephora’s website, you should use EBates to get cash back!
