Happy Tuesday friends!! & HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL!! A couple of weeks ago, I shared a couple new plaid tops I purchased and did a quick little styling video on them. I figured I would put together an entire blog post to break down some of the ways you can style a plaid button up shirt, especially while transitioning from summer to fall.
Ways to Style a Plaid Button Up Shirt
Loose Button Up
I love leaving the shirt hanging loose and flowing in the wind. For the first look below I am wearing a crop tank with shorts. I love long sleeved tops with shorts when going from summer to fall. If it gets too chilly, swap out the shorts for jeans and you’re good to go! The second look is with a t-shirt instead of a tank.
Knotted or Tied Front
There are a couple different ways to wear a button up shirt knotted in front. You can wear it with just shorts and a top, or over a dress. Sharing the over the dress option here. It can be worn with a shorter dress, shift dress, or a longer midi or maxi dress!
Tied or Knotted Around the Waist
Another one that you can wear with a dress or shorts/jeans. This is probably my favorite way to wear it, especially early fall when it might be too warm for long sleeves. Having it around the waist is stylish, but also functional when it gets a little chillier. You can just toss it on and go!
Of course you can always button it all the way up with some jeans, but I prefer the above ways.
