Happy Wednesday! (& Happy Halloween) It’s been a little over a year since Conor and I got married and, until now, we had yet to print out any of our wedding photos to put in frames. All we had was our wedding album and a canvas print given to us by our photographers. I’ve been contemplating redoing our gallery wall in our hallway for quite sometime since the photos on there are extremely old, so I went ahead and started planning. From there, things took a bit of a turn…
To start out, I had a vision in my mind. An Instagrammer I follow (@darylanndenner) shared a beautiful photo of her entry way with an amazing 9 grid photo wall. This is what really inspired me to want to change things up in our hallway. (I shared a blog post about our gallery wall after we moved into our house) I ended up taking down all of the photos and decor from the hallway gallery wall to start planning out what I wanted to change, but after looking at everything, I started getting different ideas.
I wanted to do this 9 photo grid on that hallway wall in place of the gallery wall I had taken down, but the hallway is very narrow and not a lot of people see it there, so I started thinking of where else I could put it. We have a console table in our living room that just had a clock above it. We loved the clock however, we lost the pendulum in our move so we were okay with getting rid of that if we had to.

I told my friend Nina (Balkanina) about my ideas, and asked for advice on what to do. She recommended putting it on the wall above the console table in the living room and keeping the gallery wall in the hallway. Since she’s amazing when it comes to home decor, I trusted her opinion and we went with that!
Deciding on the New Grid/Gallery Wall
I think this is still considered a gallery wall, but I’ve been calling it a grid sometimes, and a gallery wall other times?! I decided that the current gallery wall in the hallway will be a project for the winter months- I’ll be redoing a little of it, bit by bit, adding in some more wedding and family photos along with new frames, but the main focus now became the wall in the living room above the console table.
I purchased nine 11×14 gold metal frames to create a grid of photos above that table. Each frame has matting in it, so the actual photos in the frame are 8×10. I chose 8 of my favorite wedding and engagement photos, plus one photo of us and the dogs and ordered them. I made 3 of them black & white and for the rest, I added a deep contrast filter to make them flow nicely with the b&w.
Hanging the Photos
I figured this was going to be the hardest part. How do I get them evenly spaced and the nails just right? Enter: My Husband! Thank goodness for his handyman abilities, plus his 4ft level! 😉 He did all the math to make sure they were just right and marked them out on the wall and voila! When he first hung them all, they weren’t quite straight, but he realized it was probably the back hook on the frames, so we (by we I mean HE…LOL) decided to hang them on the frames instead of the frame hooks and it was perfect!
I threw together a quick time lapse VLOG of the process too! It was super easy to hang and took no time at all!
Before and After
Below is the before and after of our wall.
I realized we don’t have any professional or decent looking photos of us and the dogs, so we will have to update that middle one soon, but it will do for now!
What do you think? Do you like this look? I am absolutely obsessed. I shopped all around for the best deal on these gold frames, and I’m pretty sure I found the best deal there is (that had quick shipping and great reviews). If they are sold out, click on the brand and they have tons of options too!! I linked a few other similar frames down below too!
Thanks for reading loves!
