My Birthday Celebrations + Outfit Details

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone had a great weekend & a great start to their week! With the Eclipse, my dog’s birthday and my birthday, we had an eventful past few days! I thought I would share with you what I did for my birthday this year!

I had been trying to get to the Sunflower fields at the Pope Farm Conservancy- it’s just on the Verona/Middleton border near Madison, Wisconsin. Each day I’ve tried to go it either didn’t work out due to plans or the weather was bad. Sunday, the last day of the peak of the sunflowers, we finally made it! It was just as beautiful as I had imagined & pictures don’t even do it justice! It was a hot one on Sunday, so even in my dress and Conor in his shorts and t-shirt, we were pretty sweaty by the end of the trip! I’ve included some photos below from our visit. I can’t wait to go again next year!

Date Night Style Guide Featuring JORD Watches+ A GIVEAWAY!

jord watch

Happy Tuesday! This past weekend was my bridal shower & I had so much fun! At the end of the shower, my fiance, Conor came to help wrap things up & transport the gifts. Once we were done packing up, we had a mini date night before heading home to put away our gifts. Although this was an out of the ordinary date night, I wanted to share with you what our typical date night looks like, and include our outfit details from this past weekend. Plus, read on for a GIVEAWAY!

Our typical date night usually just involves going to dinner, but lately, we have been trying to mix it up a bit. We’ve done dinner and a movie, dinner and the driving range (that night was especially fun), or just a movie night (sneaking in some snacks in place of dinner). Conor and I love going to the same places to eat and ordering the same things, so recently we’ve had a mission to try new places to eat or if we do go somewhere that we’ve been before, we try to change up what we order.

Depending on the restaurant and itinerary we choose for date night, we dress accordingly. If we’re just doing a movie night and no dinner, we will wear comfy clothes, which is our favorite! For dinner and the driving range, or dinner and a movie, we dress a bit more casual. Every once in a while we will go out to a fancy restaurant so we will dress it up a bit, usually a dress for me and some slacks and a nice button up for Conor.

4th of July | Outfit Ideas & Inspiration

20% off clothing, shoes & accessories at TARGET with promo code JULY4. Valid Through 7/1

Happy Wednesday everyone! I wanted to share with you some easy outfit ideas for a 4th of July celebration! I don’t know about you guys, but red, white and blue just go so well together. (This could be because it was my high school mascot colors when I lived in Iowa, but who knows?!)

All of these items are very affordable and very versatile. I will link everything I can below, and link similar items if I cannot find the exact link or if the item is no longer available!

Side notes: You’re not going to see a lot of my face in these photos since I was still peeling from my chemical peel (if you follow me on Instagram I share a little about that on there, as well as on my Insta stories). Also, I had the wrong camera for these, so I apologize in advance if the quality is not good in some photos.

First up, let’s start with this super simple red tank top from Target. This can be worn several different ways: tucked in, partially tucked in, untucked, knotted, etc. I added this very cute blue beaded necklace with it (I cannot find anything similar online currently), along with these super awesome blue shades that I found at a thrift store in Galena, IL during my Bachelorette party weekend. (Don’t worry- I still have a post coming on that- I just have to get around to editing my video from the weekend before I can post about it) My shoes here are simple gray pointed toe flats that go with everything, especially blue jeans!

Sunglasses Dupe | Quay x Desi High Key | Style Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are all having an amazing weekend so far! I am IN LOVE with the Quay Australia brand of sunglasses. If you haven’t heard of the Quay (pronounced “key”) brand, then you can check them out here.

As much as I am so in love with their sunglasses, their pricing just isn’t in my budget right now.  I am more of an ‘under $12 pair of sunglasses’ kinda girl. Mainly because I tend to lose them, drop them and/or break them! Anyone else with me on this?!
