Spring Clothing Must-Haves | Spring Fashion Series

March 9, 2018 Spring & Summer Fashion

Happy Friday! I’m back with another post in my Spring Fashion Series! If you missed the first post, it was all about Spring Break Beach Essentials. If you’re heading off to the beach this Spring, be sure to check it out- it has some great finds and some awesome dupes for some high-end brands! This week’s post is all about FASHION. I shared my Spring Fashion Must-Haves in last year’s Spring Fashion Series, and today I will be sharing some similar items as well! I’ve rounded up some must-have clothing essentials and linked my favorites below!

Being that I live in the Midwest, as much as I would love to bust out the short dresses, tank tops and skirts, it’s just not logical with the weather we have. We can certainly wear those pieces, but layering is KEY! I imagine Spring to be all about cute rain boots and trenchcoats, umbrellas, cute scarves, lots of pastels and floral patterns, cute ripped up jeans, simple tees and super cute outerwear!!

According to Today.com, the hottest fashion trends this spring will be polka-dots, pastel colors (my fav), fringe, asymmetry, and checks (checkered pattern)- side note: I much more prefer stripes over checks, but I do love a good gingham pattern. I’ll be incorporating some of these trends into the next few posts about Spring Fashion, so be sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss a post! I’ll be doing a few fun Easter posts soon, as well as a possible beauty giveaway soon, so if you’re subscribed, you’ll be the first to know! 😉

This post is a long one, so grab a snack and read on!

The Perfect Tee

Whether it be the perfect crisp white tee, or any color tee, you can really dress things up or down with the perfect tee!! I love soft cotton t-shirts that are comfy, yet still stylish and look crisp with any outfit!

Color + Prints

I love pastels, blush tones and FLORALS for spring!! Give me ALL of the floral prints! I know it’s hard to have a lot of prints in your closet because they’re not as versatile, but if you find the right pieces, they totally can be!

Stripes Galore

If you’ve known me for a while, you know that I LOVE me some stripes! I know horizontal stripes are supposed to make you look wider, but I still love the heck out of them!  My favorite striped top is my long sleeved black and white striped tee from Nordstrom! I love that it is loose enough and can be knotted. You can wear it so many different ways! Here is my fav loose-fitted striped short sleeved tee.

Denim Jeans

I used to wear jeans every day to work when I was in college, so on the weekends, I lived in anything comfy, like leggings! With my job now, I can’t wear jeans, so my weekends are spent mainly in jeans! I love them! Finding the perfect jeans that I felt good in took me a long time! My all-time favorite, most comfortable jeans are the skinny jeans from American Eagle Outfitters, but I’ve also been living in my Target skinny jeans. I love a good ripped denim jean too, and am loving the raw hem trend that came about last year (ish)! In the spring, I still like to wear jeans, but if it’s warmer I like the ripped/distressed jean to let a little air in, while still staying somewhat warm. Although we may not get to wear shorts too often in the Wisconsin spring, I figured I better share them anyways! 😉

Embroidered Jeans

Overalls…they’re coming back guys!

I don’t know how I feel about these on myself, but the long, distressed overalls are super cute! I saw these super cute distressed ones worn by one of my friends and she looked so adorable in them, especially paired with a cardigan! Does anyone remember watching the show Brotherly Love growing up?? I remember the girl in the show wearing overalls folded down and I just had to do that! This was when I was in grade school, but I thought I was so cool! haha

Jean Shorts

How cute are the scalloped jean shorts?

Jumpsuits/ Rompers

My favorite way to wear rompers in the spring/summer is with a lightweight cardigan – or a heavy one if it’s still chilly. I haven’t quite gotten into jumpsuits only because I don’t think they look good on me, but I know people that look amazing in them, so I had to share them too! I am going to give them another shot this year because they’re coming out with the cutest new styles of them now!
