It has been a few years since I’ve actually done anything around Halloween, so this year was definitely a good time to jump back into it! Â I had a lot of fun with the two costumes I chose for this year’s Halloween!
For work, employees could dress up in “work appropriate” costumes.  My friend and coworker Kenzie and I decided to go as lumberjacks!  I thought our outfits turned out awesome, and so did the rest of the office! We wore our high heel worker boots (yes, I own a pair of these), jeans, black and red plaid top with suspenders, beanie, axe, and even topped it off with a mustache 😉
For the following day, we went to a friend’s house for a Halloween party! My fiancé Conor decided to steal my costume idea and go as a lumberjack as well, but I was totally okay with it! 😉 His outfit turned out great as well! I have been wanting to do some kind of face makeup for the past few years, and decided this is the year to do it! I found a skeleton dress at the Halloween store and then the day of the Halloween party, I just went for it!
I watched Chrisspy’s tutorial on YouTube to do my face, and although she had way better quality makeup than I had, I still think mine turned out pretty well!  Nothing close to hers, but that’s okay!!  I wanted to do a trial beforehand to make sure I could do the makeup, but ran out of time and only had time to do a trial for the makeup on my skin to make sure I didn’t break out from it. It is always recommended to do a trial on the back of your hand or arm before doing a full face. You don’t want to break out in hives throughout the night 😉
I received so many compliments for my makeup that night, so I am really glad I stuck with it! The makeup lasted all night as well, with only a little bit wearing off!
I had so much fun with this, I want to do something gory next year now… can’t wait!
